Rotating equipment fails for specific, traceable reasons — contamination through a worn lip seal, the wrong packing fiber in an abrasive service, piping stress loading a pump nozzle that no one traced back to the missing expansion joint. Most of these failures are preventable when the application is evaluated correctly before a product is specified.
